Against George Mason, Florida's defense had 5 steals, while the offense's perimeter game was on, hitting 12-of-25 3 pointers for 36 of their 73 points. The 12 treys tied a Final Four record.

George Mason could not hit the 3 pointer going 2 for 11, and missed numerous shots in the paint while getting few second chance attempts.

The Gators won with the perimeter game and board control holding George Mason to only 25 rebounds vs Floridas 36.

Floridas offensive rebounding allowed them numerous second chance shots as the Gators built a 19 point lead. The Gators have been impressive with a tournament high 16 point average margin of victory.

UCLA 59, LSU 45

Against LSU, UCLA's defense had 10 steals, while the offense's perimeter and inside game was on. Going 5 of 18 from 3 point land contributed 15 points to the Bruins 59 points.

The starting five accounted for 125 minutes and 48 points, while off the bench 8 substitutes put in 75 minutes and 11 points.

LSU could not get the rock in the hole, as the offense went 0 for 6 on 3 pointers and with 16 of 50 from the floor, shooting 32% for the game.

UCLA's quick and stingy defense mugged LSU's inside game for 5 steals. The Bruin fast transition and inside game had LSU's starters gasping for breath.

Despite giving up 17 turnovers and 9 steals to LSU's equally stingy defense, UCLA controlled the tempo and boards 39 to 32 while building a 24 point lead which allowed them to sleepwalk through the 2nd half.

The Final - UCLA vs Florida -1 O/U 128

In our FINAL FOUR post, we mentioned that defense wins championships and both Florida and UCLA fit the bill. Neither team has been blown out this year, Florida worst loss by 6 points, UCLA's by 8 points.

Florida has been impressive winning by large margins with defense and an excellent perimeter game. The Gators win streak is now at 10.

UCLA has been winning plain ugly with stingy defense, a fast transition game and excellent inside and perimeter shooting.

Florida beat LSU twice this year by 9 and 16 points, while UCLA shreaded LSU by 24 before calling off the dogs in the last 8 minutes.

We picked LSU for their inside game and defense, only to find out that UCLA's defensive performance against Memphis was for real. UCLA may be sloppy at times, but they make the other team look sloppier.

How real is UCLA's D? Florida opponents have scored more than 60 points 21 times while UCLA's have done so only 13 times.

The Bruins win streak is the longest in the Nation at 12 in which only ONE team has scored more than 60 against them, that being Gonzaga's 71 in the sweet 16.

UCLA trailed Gonzaga by 13 at the half and by 9 points with 3 minutes remaining. The Bruin defense proceeded to shut Gonzaga out from the field for the last 5 minutes while scoring the last 11 points of the game.

Florida is reliant on perimeter shooting in particular the 3 pointer, against UCLA's stingy defense this strategy may not work.

What will tell is Florida's ability or inability to deal with UCLA's superior bench depth, quick trapping defense and fast transition game which wore down LSU's starters and sent them to the bench gasping for air.

We love UCLA as a one point dog is this game, furthermore we like the UNDER 128 as Florida probably will not score more than 60.
