Bookburning's Next: An Idiot By Any Other Name Part II

The Nattering One muses... Exactly what we need, more fairy tales for the children about the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, intelligent design...

and omnipotent invisible men that live in the sky; who know all and will torture and make you burn in a firey pit for all eternity, if you don't follow their "word".

Wasn't this country started by those who fled from religious oppression? Soon we will need to flee this country due to religious suppression...

Get ready for the tea parties and book burning's to come.

Conservatives put stamp on Texas textbooks.

Intelligent design vs scientific evidence... The new social studies curriculum will stress religion over evolution.

Teachers in Texas will be required to cover the Judeo-Christian influences of the nation's Founding Fathers... but not highlight the philosophical rationale for the separation of church and state.

For anything we cannot yet explain or do not want to explain, it is "Divine Intervention" or "God's Will"...

The conservatives also added references to "laws of nature and nature's God" to a section in U.S. history that requires students to explain major political ideas.

An idiot by any other name... don't call it what it really is, global economic rape run amok, or like a Republican masquerading as a "Conservative"...

The board also replaced the word “capitalism” throughout the texts with the “free-enterprise system.”

Racists and xenophobes busy at work with their revisionist history...

Numerous attempts to add the names or references to important Hispanics throughout history also were denied...

inducing one amendment that would specify that Tejanos died at the Alamo alongside Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie.

Another amendment deleted a requirement that sociology students "explain how institutional racism is evident in American society."

How the Murdoch Media Blitz reached out to a nation full of the ignorant, idiotic, imbred and imbecilic....

Conservatives also included a plank to ensure that students learn about “the conservative resurgence of the 1980s and 1990s...

including Phyllis Schlafly, the Contract With America, the Heritage Foundation, the Moral Majority and the National Rifle Association,”

Mr. Naybob, genuine history--without progressive 'adjustments'--demonstrates that the 'wall of separation between Church and State' was originally used by Baptist Preacher, Roger Williams, to keep local government out of his church's affairs and that Thomas Jefferson picked it up sometime later to remind the Danbury Baptists they were not allowed to take over the US Government. All your pedanticisms cannot change the fact that the search for religious freedom and the Judeo-Christian ethic are largely responsible for the founding of this country. Stay home from church if you like but do not change history. I predict that if this revisionism on behalf of progressive humanists like you continues, history text book from the 1950's will one day be selling at a premium--just so folks can read the facts.
