Coast Guard Under BP Rule
When CBS News tried to reach the beach, covered in oil, a boat of BP contractors with two Coast Guard officers on board told us to turn around under threat of arrest.
Kelly Cobiella reports that a CBS News team was threatened with arrest by Coast Guard officials in the Gulf of Mexico who said they were acting under the authority of British Petroleum.
Government officials say that 162 sea turtles have died, about half a dozen bottle nose dolphins have died.
The sea turtles have not been thoroughly examined yet but federal officials say this seems related to the oil spill.
The Nattering One muses... This is an absolute disaster of epic proportion, which will make the Exxon Valdez look like a drop in the barrel...
162 sea turtles and half dozen bottle nose dolphin deaths SEEM related to the oil spill??? SEEM???
Sounds like these mental midgets have been smoking the same crack as those who voted for Shrub Jr.; believe in peak oil or deny there is any global warming occurring.
Perhaps these miscreants and their pack of faith based, conservative, republican, creationist, imbeciles will attribute these oil deaths to mass suicide??
Too bad it wasn't their own... much like the hale bopp comet suicide pact, what a wonderful world it could be...
How about we take these idiots out into the gulf, drown them in a pool of crude and let their "God" sort it out later? Oh well, one can dream.
Meanwhile, our friend Waverider comments: "BP in Bed with the Coast Guard to STOP freedom of the the press and freedom of inquiry! We all should be outraged."
I tire of investors, shareholders, for profit: healthcare, insurance co's, bankers, auto, utility and energy companies.
We should nationalize and regulate these greedy rapists, taking their assets and any operational profit for the public good.
Our system is failing, it is government for the corporations and by the rich. What this country needs is an enema, and we need a new social contract.

The social contract is flawed and to a great degree that flaw directly revolves around the legalized bribe in politics that constantly violates truth, justice and integrity.
BP really is the tip of the iceberg in regard to the harm already done and more importantly, the harm that WILL inescapably come.
If error has an infinity of combinations, it also has infinity of bad consequences.
The 64K question is: How much more criminal does the system have to get before people wake up and demand fair and equal representation be part of the social contract?
History has repeatedly shown that an increasingly unreasonable, arrogant ruling class along with an ignorant, apathetic populace are the key ingredients for disastrous outcomes.
If we can't learn by reason, we shall certainly learn by punishment.
