2014 World Cup - Round of 16 - Brazil vs Chile

Brazil 1 vs Chile 1 -  As Maxwell Smart used to say, "missed it by that much".  Brazil are through 3-2 on penalty kicks as La Roja pay the penalty.

The listless home side needed an own goal by Chilean defender Jara at 18', 30 minutes of overtime, Chile to hit the crossbar twice, and botch 3 of 5 penalty shootout attempts.

The suspect Brazilian backline showed up as Hulk muffed one allowing Alexis to equalize at 32'.  At 119' Chilean sub forward Pinilla almost sent Brazil off striking the crossbar.

Brazilian goalie Julio Cesar blocked two feeble efforts sent directly at him.  Jara got the double whammy suffering the same fate as Pinilla on the very last penalty kick as La Roja eliminated themselves.

When your best offensive effort is coming from a defender who renamed himself after a comicbook superhero, your in really deep shit. (Hulk's real name is Givanildo Vieira de Souza).

Does he resemble Lou Ferrigno? Not.  Brazil advance to face probable elimination at the hands of Colombia.  And if Colombia do not put this one trick pony (Neymar) out of our misery, Germany or France thankfully will.
