Trouble in River City?
JPS - "What people all over the world are objecting to today is the economic criminality that has masqueraded as the supposed benefits of free trade. The open borders for the flow of goods has been turned on its ear; it is now just open borders for the flow of finance." - Jeffrey Snider
Excellent, been Nattering the same tune for years. Like Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy, ET and the Yeti, free trade and free markets are an urban myth. Adam Smith's invisible hand was severed long ago.
Nattering on... Land, goods, labor, capital. While land has been confiscated through usurious speculation scams for decades, capital wins. The populace is four things: labor, consumer, tax payer and voter. Voting has been appropriated for decades in this charade. Sad story, few listen, fewer understand and short of a reenactment of 1789, no one can do a damn thing to stop it.
Feldspar commented: "I hope that there will be some readers "out there in the ether" who will try to tear Snider's arguments to pieces and that would be interesting to see just how they will. The extent to which the media, the Fed, and other "revered" institutions have masked the post -07-08 period as "recovery" is enough to make otherwise rational people become "conspiracy" nuts or else simply buy in to their pronouncements. We have troubles, big troubles, right here is river city ( Robert Preston, for you youngsters)."
We Nattered... Feldspar - now Marce, I need some ideas, if I'm going to get your town out of the serious trouble its in...
Marcellus: River City ain't in any trouble.
We must create some...
