Is It Upon US?

Not to be mistaken for Tuesday's With Morrie, it's time for what we feel might be quite a few... Tuesdays With Trump.

US Presidential Election Day, Tues Nov 8th, 2016 6AM EST – Asia flat; Europe flat.

A Tale of Two Streaks

SP500, nine straight down days or more, since 1928, 28 instances. The last three of the 8-day declines also happened during election years: 1996, 2008 and 2016.  This decline has been very shallow.

Concomitant, nine straight increases in VIX, first time in 27 years. Both streaks snapped yesterday, SP500 +2.22%.

Henceforth November 7th, shall be known as Email Exoneration Day or Ferris Bueller's (Hillary's?) Day Off.  Anyone remember the lesson below, anyone?

Win, Win for Trump?

Does A Clinton Victory Mean Trump Loses? No. Trump has taken "building the brand", to new heights. Celebrity Apprentice was nothing compared to what he can do now. Trump has been paying his businesses and some employees from the campaign contributions received. You did not believe he would pay for all of it out of his own pocket?

Is there a tax benefit? You can't write it off, as a candidate, you can't take a deduction on expenses or offer deductions to your donors. However, in the process of soliciting campaign donations, Trump has collected a massive amount of marketing data, including influential donor information.  Even if Clinton wins in a landslide, Trump wins.

Trump is compiling a mailing list of millions of donors and twitter followers, people who he can market to for decades to come because he now owns those lists and he can sell those lists ($10 per name is the going rate for the kind of information Trump gets from his donors) to whoever he wants to – over and over again for 10s of Millions of Dollars on each sale.
When Trump began his campaign he boasted he would be the first person to make a profit running for President and, God bless him, that's exactly what he's doing.  That, my friends, is Capitalism at its finest and, if nothing else, you have to give it to Trump for pulling this off.  - P

End of Daze?

Getting ready for the election results, chillin with my adult beverage of choice, a Caucasian and listening to Densmore, Krieger, Manzarek and Morrison. Apropos?
