Lethal Populism?

The place is here. The time is now, and the journey into the shadows that we are about to watch, could be our journey.  We offer you now a little item called... Lethal Populism? Anyone remotely paying attention? It's time to shake up the American-centric view.

The MSM reports that the islamophobic Freedom Party took 26% in the Austrian elections on Sunday October 15th.  The conservative People's Party, led by 31 year old Sebastian Kurz, captured 31.5% of the vote.

Rumor has it Kurz might form a coalition government with the Freedom Party. This would not be the 1st time as both parties ruled in coalition 2000 – 2006.  The punchline? The Freedom Party was founded by ex-Nazis.  Moving West...

September 25th in Germany, Merkel was re-elected, however, her party suffered its worst result in decades in taking only 33% of the seats. Rumors abound, with 20% coalition partner SPD may go into opposition, as the right-wing, anti-Islam nationalist AfD won its first seats with 12.5%.
pop·u·lism -ˈpäpyəˌlizəm - nounsupport for the concerns of ordinary people."it is clear that your populism identifies with the folks on the bottom of the ladder"the quality of appealing to or being aimed at ordinary people."art museums did not gain bigger audiences through a new populism"
Populist Nattering... Seems anti immigrant populism movements are not just gaining ground swell in America, but globally.  IMHO, the Little Kim's or Ayatollahs are annoyances pumped by MSM to fit the narrative. These distractions du jour inflame and help to enable the populist movements, which leads to something far worse.

Time for your moment of Zen… The question is not will, but where and when does the next REAL…

.... stand up?

The above short listed dozen names, places, and smiling, seemingly benevolent faces have not been changed, merely presented as they were, to protect the innocent then, now and in the decades to come.

Small detail hidden where the Devil can usually be found... the parenthesized numbers do not represent measures of popularity, as in electorate shares, local equity valuations or records sold, but none the less are in the millions.

Those estimates represent the estimated death toll attributed to each dictators lethal reign of populist genocide, against their own people, opposition and otherwise.  Bear in mind, depending upon tyrannical dictator or populist regime, YMMV - your mileage may vary.

We can only hope that tonight's lesson in popularity serves as a perplexingly macabre and disturbing reminder for the future...

Careful what you wish for, as popularity in populism has a price of untold millions. Are we willing to pay that price, again? and when will or do they ever learn?
