The Truth Shall Set You Free

In Peak What? Christmastime in Hell, Part 1 amongst many other things, we Nattered: "Zizek, Jesus (Ephesians) & John are coming to town... "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Above, both Stockman and Snider elude to a collective cognitive dissonance. Part of the problem is seeing and acknowledging Zizek's "unknown known" or collective cognitive dissonance: "the disavowed beliefs, suppositions and obscene practices we pretend not to know about, even though they form the background of our public values." An example of the unknown known, as Trebek would answer the query: what is a (blank)? i.e. insert - third reich German. As in, how could you not know and standby?

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood"... Hitler took advantage of the fact that the human condition has a blinding affinity for lying, to others and especially to oneself. It is this willful blindness which prevents people from seeing through the bigger lies that hold them circumstantially captive. And it is the collective willful blindness that can be harmful in the extreme. If we can see the "unknown known" and acknowledge it for what it is, like Colm O'Gorman did when he sued the Pope, the more honest we become, and the more true freedom we acquire... "the truth shall set you free"."

Leftfield commented: "Thanks for this and previous most interesting articles that offer such insightful glimpses behind the curtain of manipulated stock and bond "markets." This gives investors significant warning and clues before the headline bubbles of bonds and major corporate stocks succumb to the end of ZIRP, endless bonus-enhancing stock buybacks and taxpayer balance sheet expansion."

BuyandHold commented: "The truth shall set you free?

Nattering Naybob, in your profile you write: "Hollywood is producing nothing but crap these days." That is so true. The quality of movies has been steadily going downhill since 1970. We are now living in the cultural Dark Ages. But it should also not escape those who are observant that those who manage the economy in the United States have gone Hollywood. The economy is like a giant stage set in a Walt Disney movie where it is not reality but perception that matters. Janet Yellen has transformed herself into the fairy godmother in a Walt Disney movie, sprinkling the fairy dust of QE and ZIRP on an economy that lost touch with reality a long time ago."

We Nattered back: ""those who are observant"

And that is an important aspect. Most are so poor, either in a pecuniary nature, or observational skills, that they can't even pay attention... I understand the pecuniary side, but the skills side makes me wonder, is it the sound bytes, or medication contraindication (vicodin, ritalin) or just societal ADD? Thank you for the comment."
