Consumer Recession in Monaco

The Recovery Itself Unravels - Consumer Recession [View article]
A reader commented: " Let the next Picasso sell for more than $200 million! Let the next Gauguin sell for more than$350 million! Let those poor oppressed rich folks, laboring under the most terrible inflation since... since... well, since the LAST terrible inflation... let... Anyway, let them pay more than $400 million for the yachts they have built now"
We Nattered: LMAO... Most recent visit to Monaco, quite modernized since last visit in an Austin Martin, has lost much of the old charm whilst ostentatiousness has run amok. A walkabout the docks clearly demonstrated this was where "mine is longer and bigger than yours" reigns supreme, as a 150 foot yacht is a dinghy. Sampling the yacht brokers: one week charter for 150 meter yacht, replete with crew, a paltry $250K, so I had to dig into petty cash... yes inflation, isn't it terrible? Please do pass the beluga and Taittinger Brut Blanc de Blanc '43 ... thank you Moneypenny.
