The Glass Is???

Over at SA Martin at Macronomics put up a gem, Optimism Bias in which he commented: "The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.

Ghiblinewt commented - "The optimist always says it can be done, the pessimist always says it can't be done. The realist will tell you how much its going to cost.

We Nattered: Meanwhile the opportunist feeds his sailboat crew plenty of pickled eggs, radishes, cucumbers and beans... then lines up his crews posteriors and the sails in the desired direction.

Regarding varying perspective on that proverbial glass of water...

half full - optimist
half empty - pessimist
it's a glass alright - realist
could be a cold fusion energy supply - idealist
if I give it an artsy name and bottle it we could market it - capitalist
it belongs to all of us equally - communist
the government put flouride and other things in it - conspiracist
neither the glass nor I exist - nihilist
the glass isn't going to refill itself honeybuns - sexist
grabs the glass and drinks it down - opportunist

Re: Brexit, as Martin so aptly described, the potential advantage of first mover, is the UK the opportunist? The result of the Brexit referendum election was no less shocking than Iceland beating England in the Euro Cup as we predicted.

It is more onerous for those who are under a single currency and monetary policy - for a multitude of reasons, one size does not fit all, and never can. Carpe Diem comes to mind.

Ghiblinewt completed our list:

is that a glass? - existentialist
it is a glass and it is not a glass- poststructuralist
the glass is a gender symbol of the patriarchy - feminist
I don't care as long as its got whiskey in it - alcoholist

Brilliant and GMTA!!
