Qatar Explosion 1 day Prior, Linked to BP Texas City Plant?

Jund Al-Sham - The Army of the Levant claimed responsibility for a terrorist bombing in Qatar, one day prior to the event at the BP Texas City Refinery. I find it a bit strange that after both bombings, the FBI's Mr. Tribble did not know the name of this purported terrorist group. And even stranger that two groups claimed responsibility for the BP plant incident.

An unknown group has claimed responsibility for a Doha, Qatar suicide bombing that killed a Briton and wounded 16 others. An Egyptian suicide bomber detonated a car laden with explosives at the theater popular with Western expatriates in the first attack of its kind in the Gulf Arab state. Jund Al-Sham vowed to hit churches and "crusader" military bases in the region, an Internet statement says. The statement came as Qatari officials hunted for clues of any al Qaeda involvement in Saturday's attack, the first in the Gulf Arab state, which hosts the U.S. Central Command that directed the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

"We claim responsibility for the historic Qatar operation, carried out by a lion of the Army of the Levant," the statement posted on a Web site on Tuesday used by Islamists said. Addressing what it called "the supporters of the devil", the group warned "America, Britain and Italy and all those who have defiled the lands of Islam be ready for the grand surprise". "The Qatar operation is the beginning," it added.

Jund al-Sham is a name used by many different organizations in the region, so it could be the same one that claimed responsibility for the Oct .7, 2004, Taba Hilton Egyptian hotel attack or it could be a new group.
