Wal Mart and China

"10 percent to 13 percent of China's exports to the United States winds up at Wal-Mart. 80 percent of the six thousand factories in Wal-Mart's worldwide database of suppliers are in China. ... If Wal-Mart were a nation, it would be China's fifth-largest export market, ahead of Germany and Great Britain."

Wal-Mart is the world's largest company - bigger than Exxon Mobil, General Electric or General Motors - and it sells more goods every year than Target, Sears, Kmart, J.C. Penney, Safeway and Kroger combined. Its trade with and in China, amounts to 1.5 percent of that country's gross domestic product.
