A Heretic By Any Other Name

Nick Cheer's post The Fed Will Not Raise Rates Here's Why drew this comment from Michael Clark: "Start by cutting the military. Give health insurance subscribers a rebate on services NOT USED. Consider a new organization of the US, from 50 states into 9 large states, based on geographical unity. Cut the cost and length of time of political campaigns to almost nothing. There are ways to do this.

Social security and medicare are not the problem.

Punish corporations that use foreign addresses to try to escape US taxes. Rewrite the tax laws to make this work. Use Rico laws against Wall Street and against banks engaging in money laundering. Why were Rico laws not used against the Madoff Family? White collar organized crime on Wall Street is no different that non-Protestant organized crime all over the world -- treat it the same."

The Nattering One muses... "Give health insurance subscribers a rebate on services NOT USED" Instead of paying for the abusers and unhealthy, a reward for maintaining my health?  Tired of paying for fast food junkies, lousy drivers and those who insist on rebuilding their McMansions and mobile homes in mudslide, flood and tornado zones?  Extend this to auto and home insurance as well. Pry paid premiums out of the hands of an insurance co? Unseemly and unheard of, may you suffer from asset seizure laws and non payment of claims.

"Cut the cost and length of time of political campaigns to almost nothing." A common sense political and logistical realignment? What of $100 million to buy a whore on the hills votes, and wasting half the reps time stumping instead of legislating, and gerrymandering districts? Instead of time being the threat, with exhaustion and pap the inevitable consequence, you wish to stop treating our nations future like a passing fad? Pure balderdash, may the fleas of the 535 professional procrastinator's in our Congress infest your arm pits.

"Punish corporations that use foreign addresses to try to escape US taxes." Instead of evasion, mitigation and avoidance through loopholes, these globalized corporate cannibals would actually pay their fair share? Separate the executives, board and shareholders from their "floaty things" and just country club desserts? Why the nerve, how dare you? May you suffer from a dearth of disintermediation and oppressive regressive taxation.

"Use Rico laws against Wall Street and against banks engaging in money laundering."  The Feds would be very busy and due to the influx of white collar criminals, which due to the volume thereof, might require funding for additional prisons.  Not to mention the public inconvenience due to closure of probably 75% of all banking institutions and branches.  Non banking institution idolater, ungrateful depositor, ingratiating investor, may you suffer from premature withdrawal penalties and excessive AUM fees.

In short, you Sir are a heretic, who may stand for truth and justice, but is clearly set against what has become, the American way.

And therefore, I must solemnly inform you that I have decided to offer you a position in our cabinet. Salmo Trutta is already our fed chair and defacto Treasury head.  Please advise as to availability and preference.

Comments

Yes, I am available. I would love the FED chair position, but it is taken. So I guess I'd like to be Attorney General and go after the fat cats in Washington and on Wall Street. I have an election slogan: "Talk about Infrastructure: Let's build Wall Street and Washington their own prisons, within site of Wall Street and the White House." Be advised that I won't rest until all the "gold" that has been stolen from America through QE, ZIRP and (potentially) NIRP will be returned to the American taxperay, with interest, with positive interest. BEN BERNANKE: I'M COMING AFTER YOU!
