NFL 2016 Playoffs Championship Sunday

Following up on our Divisional Playoff projections, all match up stats in Yards Per Attempt, provided by Pro Football Reference.  All times Eastern.

From our Wildcard Weekend projections...
As they are both hotter than a squirrel putting suntan oil on his nuts, keep your eyes on these dark horses...
In the NFC, watch the GB Sausage Packers, the potential of facing Mr. Rodgers and his O-line has the DAL Pokes (aka Jerry's Kids) defensive coordinator sweatin like a priest at a preschool.
In the AFC, watch the Three Rivers PIT Riveters, the potential of facing that O-line and Mr. Bell has the NE Minutemen defensive coordinator sweatin like a hooker in church.

And here are both of those squirrels...

Sunday 3:05PM FOX

Two weeks ago: In the NFC, watch the GB Sausage Packers, the potential of facing Mr. Rodgers and his O-line has the DAL Pokes (aka Jerry's Kids) defensive coordinator sweatin like a priest at a preschool.

Last week: the Cheese Heads are hotter than a squirrel putting suntan oil on his nuts.

Week 8 in the Dirty Bird's nest, last second heroics by Private Ryan saved the day GB 32, ATL 33. The box score reads like a dead heat, except Rodgers running for his life, was GB's leading rusher 6-60yds as he was held to 223 yds in the air.  This time Ty Montgomery can help Mr. Rodgers cause?

Last week, as the Pokes had a problem getting after Mr. Rodgers. Mr. Rodger's and gang shot down Jerry's Kid's with last second heroics.  Meanwhile, the Dirty Birds literally BROKE the Legion of Boom into pieces fit for a pigeon.

Can either defense offer resistance? Perhaps unlike the Pokes, the Dirty Birds can get after Mr. Rodgers? This game should be a track meet reminiscent of Dan Fout's and Air Coryell. He who makes the fewest mistakes, converts for TD's and can pressure the other teams QB.

Setting our line: ATL -5.5 + -3pts at home nets ATL -8.5. Our pick, road dog GB +4 ATS and SU.

Sunday 6:40PM CBS

#3 PIT Steelers (Road 6-3) @ #1 NE Patriots (Home 7-2)
Weather: 39F brisk cloudy, Rain 10%, Wind 5mph
Spread NE -6 OU 51

NE Offense Run #25 3.9 Pass #3 7.5  Sacked 26  TODiff: +12

PIT Defense Run #19 4.3; Pass #11 6.2 Sacks 39

PIT Offense Run #15 4.3 Pass #8 6.8  Sacked 22  TODiff +6

NE Defense Run #8 3.9; Pass #8 6.0 Sacks 37

Two weeks ago: In the AFC, watch the Three Rivers PIT Riveters, the potential of facing that O-line and Mr. Bell has the NE Minutemen defensive coordinator sweatin like a hooker in church.

Despite losing TOM -1 on the road, in Week 7 the Minutemen Blount-ed (127 vs 81 yds) the Riveters 27-16. With Big Ben illin and out, Landry Jones outpassed Brady 47 att-281 vs 26-222.  What will Big Ben do against the NE pass D? Brady and Ben will get theirs in the air.

Last week, the Steelers settled on a playoff record six FG's, making the final score look close.  Meanwhile, the Patriots were sloppy (3 TO's) and lucky to be playing a lame excuse for a playoff team.  This is a record 6th consecutive title game for the Pats. A repeat of last weeks performance will NOT result in a record 9th SB appearance.

Excepting Wk16 BAL 122 yds and taking Wk17 off, PIT has lost every game in which they yielded more than 100 yds rushing. Wk 9 allowing 50 yds rushing resulted in a loss to BAL. NE won't hold PIT to 36yds like the Ravens did.

Last 2 weeks, PIT on the ground 179, 171 and defending it 52, 61. Allowing under 100 yds rushing the Riveters are 11-1 allowing 62 yds avg. In both Pat losses this year, they were held to under 100 yds rushing. The key to this game? Perhaps.

Setting our line: NE -4.5 + -3pts for home nets NE -7.5. Our pick road dog PIT +6 ATS and SU.
