The Disinvited?

Once again, not to be mistaken for Tuesday's With Morrie, it's Tuesdays With Trump...

Declining a post championship visit to the White House is nothing new....

"If (Reagan) wants to see me, he knows where to find me." - 1984, Larry Bird
In 1991, rather than visit with Bush Sr., Michael Jordan opted to go duffing on the back nine.  Fast forward to present day...  After their 2017 Super Bowl LI victory, several of the New England Patriots declined POTUS 45's invitation to the White House for political reasons.

Notably, Martellus Bennett, Devin McCourty, Dont'a Hightower and Chris Long.  As to how many Patriots attended, for the context and fact checking of that kerfuffle, see details and photos on Snopes.

50 years ago, that post victory protest during the National Anthem brought death threats and was rewarded with expulsion from the games.  Showing our age but not our CRS (Can't Remember Shit)?  But, I digress and we will revisit for Nattering another day.  Moving West, and not yet Kanye...

After their 2017 NBA Championship, some Golden State Warriors eschewed a visit with #45.

Based on one players hesitation to accept, #45 immediately dis-invited the entire Warriors team.
Just a bit presumptive? Flash forward to news of the future... In that aspect, one might expect the W's as freshly crowned back to back 2018 NBA champions, to perhaps perform a repeat of another kind?

Speaking of recent dis-invitations, on June 4th, The White House issued this statementaccompanied by this Tweet from #45...

It appears that a team invitation is an all or nothing deal?  Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney responded with this statement excerpted below...

"Mayor Kenney released the following statement on the recent decision of President Trump to disinvite the Philadelphia Eagles from visiting the White House:

...Disinviting them from the White House only proves that our President is not a true patriot, but a fragile egomaniac obsessed with crowd size and afraid of the embarrassment of throwing a party to which no one wants to attend..."
Leading to a news segment regarding #45's disinvitation of the Eagles...

in which FOX NEWS was apparently unable to distinguish between a pregame prayer and a player protest during the national anthem, as graphically explained below...

Leading to this very understandable and understated Tweet by Eagles tight end Zach Ertz...
After creating a cattywumpus within a kerfuffle, Fox issued an apology for their "fair and balanced" coverage “we showed unrelated footage of players kneeling in prayer”. DOH! This whole chain of unruly events, leading to this "Trump House Rules" collage...

Not to be outdone, Philadelphia Mayor Chief of Staff, Jane Slusser tweeted...
No guessing, the Eagle's was way bigger than #45's. And mercifully, not to be outdone by FOX... #45 commented on the premier audience of the recently resurrected Roseanne, "Over 18 million people! And it was about us!". Nine weeks later, the series was cancelled due to a massive Ambien twit seizure?  After further review and the above events, ABC execs have had an sudden change of heart...

With an apparently complete recasting surprise... (left to right) Kanye West as D.J. (Michael Fishman), #45 as Roseanne's husband Dan (John Goodman), Kellyanne Conway as Becky (Lecy Goranson) and Sarah Huckabee Sanders as Darlene (Sara Gilbert).

Indeed this posterchild of mindless distraction has become a meme stating "Trump Vows To Bring Roseanne Back!". Perhaps "Would You Watch Roseanne on FOX?" might be more appropriate?

My oh my, times are a changin aren't they? I don't know, but I'll tell ya... it ain't for better, but it's for good?
