Manson Family Values?

Continuing from Chucky Unplugged, Finally?

On November 19, 2017 at the age of 83, Charles Milles Manson an American criminal and cult leader who formed what became known as the Manson Family, died of unspecified causes while serving a life sentence at the California State Prison in Corcoran.

Comments from some friends....
"Good Riddance – Charlie Manson. Dead."
"And what exactly was the point of keeping him alive for 40 years?  In those kind of cases, I am pro death penalty."
In 1971 Charles Manson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of seven people, and was later convicted in two other slayings.

At a 1993 parole hearing, Susan Atkins gave an account of her victim Sharon Tate's last words...
“She asked me to let the baby live. I told her I didn’t have mercy for her.”
We offer you now a little item called Manson Family Values?

So how did this merciless group of killers make out?

Linda Kasabian, who acted as a driver and lookout during the murders, was granted immunity in exchange for her testimony.

Mary Brunner, Manson’s first follower and the mother of his child, was granted immunity reportedly for her testimony in Gary Hinman’s 1969 murder.

Steven Grogan was convicted in 1971 for the murder of Donald Shea, but was paroled in 1985 after serving 14 years, for helping authorities locate Shea’s body.

In 2009, after serving 38 years of a life sentence, Susan Atkins who confessed to killing Sharon Tate, died of brain cancer in Chowchilla.

As of 2017, the primary killer Charles Watson, and Patricia Krenwinkel, who confessed to killing coffee heiress Abigail Folger, and Leslie Van Houten, who aided in the slayings of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, are all respectively serving their 47th year.

A panel recommended parole for Van Houten in 2016, but California’s governor Jerry Brown, denied it.

Also in their 47th year, Robert Beausoleil who was convicted in the murder of Gary Hinman, and Bruce Davis who was convicted in the murders of Hinman and Shea.

Davis has been recommended for parole five times, but like Van Houten, California governors blocked his release each time.

Although not involved in the late 60's murder spree, Lynette Fromme was arrested in 1975 after she tried to shoot President Gerald Ford. Manson "family" Fromme was paroled in 2009 after serving 34 years.

Manson and most of his "family" were sentenced to be executed.  Most unfortunately, their sentences were commuted to life in prison when a California Supreme Court ruling temporarily banned the death penalty in 1972.

Of the Chuckster's 83 years on this planet, 62 were spent institutionalized and imprisoned. Not including the cost in human lives attributed to Manson's insane clown posse cult of death, there were court (conviction), administration (parole hearings), and living costs.

At an averaged annual cost of 50K over his 62 year span of incarceration, what has society spent on maintaining Manson? PRICE: $3.1 MILLION

But that's just the tip o the iceberg as the other "family" members respectively accumulated 14, 38, 47, 47, 47, 47, 47 and 34 years in prison.

Including Chucky, the grand total on this macabre tab of the absurd, comes to 383 years of tax payer sponsored institutionalized life.  Price: $19.15 MILLION.

Mind you, this expense was not to rehabilitate, but an investment to house, feed, provide healthcare and keep Charlie and his "family" away from the rest of us.  IMHO, many can think of much better ways to spend or invest $20 Million.

But that's not all you get, as we've saved the best for last... upon request, Robert Beausoleil was transferred in 1994 to the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, after he married a woman from Oregon while in prison and later fathered four children.

Manson "family values" showed no mercy for Sharon Tate's unborn 8 month old child.  Societies values? As opposed to death or castration, one who intentionally takes the life of another, is allowed conjugal visits to have sex, get married and procreate. Absolutely PRICELESS.

Unfortunately, in this case of multiple confessions and DEFINITIVE guilt, due to the 1972 abolition... the snuggie Thuggee neck tie, red top hat, lead poisoning, Belsen cough drops, lights out IV, sit down with Ol Sparky, or the dead man walkin, never came for any of these "family" members.

As they say, no clean hands in a dirty business, but I digress... in closing, last week there was extra cause for Thanksgiving, as that waste of skin and the rest of his worthless "family" should have been put out of our misery, long ago in 1972.

Our heartfelt condolences and sympathies go out to what are real families, or the victims of Manson's "family values". And now this 1981 interview with Tom Snyder...
