2018 NFL Week 1 Picks Against The Spread

Rather than Thursday's in the Loo, it's time for NFL Football picks in the toilet.... putting that seat or content down loading time to good use?

2017

We celebrated the regular season finishing 5 games ahead of the nearest expert with a ATS record of 146-103-7; lox 48-28-2.

Against NFLPickWatch's field of 51 PAID professional experts, we finished:

5 ahead of #2 @141-107-8 Case Keefer, Las Vegas Sun
8 up on #3 @138-110-8 Yahoo's Frank Schwab.
10 up on #4 @136-108-12 Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated's MMQB.

After 11 playoff games, our record stood at ATS 151-108-8 with lox at 51-30-2. Again, number one and not bad for one who knows little?

Close but no cigar... had we entered the Westgate Super Contest, and had our 48-28-2 LOX been spread at 5 games per week x 17 weeks = 85 games, correct 1pt, push 1/2 pt, we could have garned 49pts.

Putting that in perspective, 52pts (tied for 50th) got you in the money at $2,484, and recouped the $1500 entry fee.  This year the money is expanded to the top 100 and FYI... last years winner went 58-22-5 for 60.5 pts winning $1,327,284 (standings).

In our annual exercise in futility, picking 40 NCAA bowls and CFB Championship game, we went SU (28-13); ATS (26-14-1) with Lox (11-4).  The venerable Case Keefer at the Las Vegas Sun went 25-14-1 ATS.

In summation, last year WE WERE THE #1 percentage winner on the WEB (cherry picking (LOX) 30% of ALL games ATS), picking all bowl games, and NUMBER ONE on the web picking all 267 NFL games ATS.

2018

As the years crawl by and CRS creeps in, we have forgotten more than most know. What are our expectations on how we will we fare this year? We know even less than we did last year, so with the odds stacked against us... horribly and TBD as to severity.

Damn it, I'm a prognosticator, not a pundit, get to the point and just pick em Jim.  In this years effort, we will not bother to comment, nor give rationale for our picks or the results thereof. New Feature... our picks broken out by Favorite vs Dog and Home vs Road.

Say What? Our pick is the team WITH THE NUMBER. In keeping with the Westgate Super Contest our five (5) locks per week will be noted.

Even though their number is not always right or shopped, we will use the NFL Pickwatch line at the time we actually make our picks.

As always, we are sworn to the number, and loyal to none. Shaking our head in utter disbelief while Moving West... shall we continue to utilize a double headed wooden nickel in making our selections? Perhaps...

That's life, that's what all the bookies say, you're ridin high pre game, shot down by late Sunday....  and away we go!!

Although the line differs on occasion from the links above, try Jeff Sherman's Twitter feed, as the manager of the Westgate Super Book, he might just know a little sumpin.

For excellent insight, we recommend referring to Case Keefer at the Las Vegas Sun, as he knows a little sumpin, sumpin.
