A Funny Thing Happened, on the Way to the Forum
The BLS and educational institutions make a big deal about the “careers of the future”. They scream growth opportunity and entice young people into these educational fields with the promise of plentiful work and good pay.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the Forum.
By the time the graduates are ready for harvest, the field is flooded and compromised. This has happened in Engineering, Computer Science, Nursing, Law and a myriad of other fields.
The graduates wind up tending bar, waiting & busing tables, flipping burgers and stripping while hearing the employer’s still whine about a shortage in their field. This is a codicil of another subject, which has rubbed my rhubarb the wrong way. More to come, on the morrow.
