One night in a "3 star" dump near the Olympic venues in Turin or Sestriere = $450
A meal for four at any overcrowded tourist trap in the Olympic zone = $120
Having a sub Alpine residence 30 minutes from the Olympic venues and not caring about the whole Olympic scene....
then celebrating Fat Tuesday at Il Storico Carnevale di Ivrea while watching the Battle of the Oranges, drinking vin brulee and eating polenta & fagioli grassi for free with the locals who didn't care about the Olympics either....
