Congressional Gridlock Looms

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, you can't even get past the sand...

Democratic Senator Tim Johnson underwent brain surgery last night following stroke like symptoms.

It is unknown at this point if he will be able to resume his duties. If he cannot, the Republican governor of South Dakota will name a replacement.

This would split the Senate 50-50 with V.P. "Shootin" Dick Cheney casting the deciding vote on ties.

This medical development could result in legislative gridlock. We wish Senator Johnson the best and hope that he can and does return to his duties.
