Would you consider the title of this missive to be too narrow or not about something that is quite broad in its macro demographic scope and scale? As for anyone who thinks that the Oprah brand does not have:
- macro economic effect and affect on her sponsors bottomline
- the ability to materially effect every stock mentioned in this missive
- the ability to bring about positive change for Weight Watchers
I beg to differ. The focus of this missive, unlike other SA missives on Ms. Winfrey's recent stroke of genius, is not about one stock, Weight Watchers. The focus is on Oprah, her brand and their sphere of influence; the scope and scale thereof and how it can materially effect a sponsor or partners, bottomline or stock valuation.
To make that point, what do the below list of Oprah sponsors and Tesla, Netflix, Amazon, Facebook, Chipotle, Citigroup, Disney, GE, BofA, Microsoft, Apple and Google all have in common??

These savvy corporations care about the statistics and demographics presented herein because; if they could, and they want to, and some have already, and some will be partnering with Weight Watchers to do so, they would bottle the Oprah effect and her Midas touch to bring them more customers, which can and does materially effect their bottom line and stock valuations.
