Bears, Bubbles & Bubbleheads

Barry Ritholtz's Big Picture has three gems. Keeping Tabs on the Market where he quotes and agrees with Barron's Alan Ableson:

"what he sees is a mean shakeout this month, followed by a rally that might carry into next year. But that rally, he feels, will be just another of the bear-market rallies of various intensity and duration we've been witness to these past several years and, at some point in '06, stocks will begin to go down again big time and the bear market resumes in earnest." We concur as well.

Regarding a
WSJ OpEd on the Oil Bubble, Barry tells it like it is and rips the WSJ a new one while he's at it:

WTF? Is this just lousy research? Mere stupidity? Or simply malicious publishing with blatant disregard for the truth? Here's the bottom line: The enemy of truth is the enemy of investors. My rule of thumb is that if you need to make shit up to prove your point, than you are less than worthless: You are actively involved in obscuring reality, polluting the memestream, misleading investors. That moves the WSJ Op Ed page to the top of my "pages to avoid for investors" list. Shame on them.

And my favorite of the bunch
Manchurian Candidate? where he turns us on to a recent OpEd from the normally conservative paper The Buisness Online:

But we know a lost cause when we see one: the longer President Bush occupies the White House the more it becomes clear that his big-government domestic policies, his preference for Republican and business cronies over talented administrators, his lack of a clear intellectual compass and his superficial and often wrong-headed grasp of international affairs – all have done more to destroy the legacy of Ronald Reagan, a President who halted then reversed America’s post-Vietnam decline, than any left-liberal Democrat or European America-hater could ever have dreamed of.

As one astute American conservative commentator has already observed, President Bush has morphed into the Manchurian Candidate, behaving as if placed among Americans by their enemies to do them damage.

Bush is the Manchurian Candidate and at best a marionette of Cheney, Rove and the attendant oil oligopoly, there was never any doubt of this. It just wonderful and actually refresing to hear it from the Right wingers themselves. Maybe there is hope for them yet. Not!!!
