Dampflok, Blowing Off Steam?

Over at SA our recent SA posting, Yen For Dollar? or Godzilla? we received some comments of an insulting nature from one Dampflok - a German word for steam engine.

After several civil responses, we grew weary of the repeated badgering and abuse, so we set the "steamer" straight in a civil and diplomatic manner by listing their ad hominem as excerpts:

DFlok - "These are the most awkward explanations... I have read in a long time. While not necessarily wrong... nobody can understand the author's convoluted explanations. Because otherwise there is no point in them and the article doesn't have one either.... This lack of basic understanding explains your convoluted argumentation.... and then there are those that think they know it all and are unwilling to learn. Naybob, now you are being offensive, if you don't want to argue based on the facts, get out of writing articles inviting comments.

Please bare with me as I drop in to see what condition my condition is in...

We then Nattered: I said I didn't have any more time to waste but WOW! That's a whole lot of steam comin out of that torqued up engine. Because DFlok don't like something, the Naybob should get out of writing articles? I'm the one getting offensive? Again, the RAVEN doth chide blackness!

I always invite and support intelligent comments that add value by sharing experience, perspective and insight.

I don't support: a sense of entitlement, insults, contradictory statements; arguing known facts for the sake of argument; self induced language or intelligence impediments; and last but not least; abusive, time wasting, ad hominem attacks wrought with troll droll and straw men.

If you were in my shoes, you'd do the same, but alas your not. Bottom line, my well made points are established in fact, not argumentative and based in contradictory circular logic. There are others commenting here who can plainly interpret and understand that.

Yet, like steam rising, the above escapes a certain individual. As a matter of choice, one can choose to remain silent and thought a fool or open their mouth and remove all doubt.

Thus one is free to comment, spin or flail about, blowing off steam as they please, and the commentary only reflects on the one making it. All doubt having been removed, this shall be my last communique on the matter. We are done and I shall leave you where you are.

Civil, to the point, constructive, put diplomatically, not wielding threats, violence, insults, personal attacks or harming the "collegial atmosphere" that SA so encourages. One would think this was the end, but no!!!  More to come in the conclusion: Dampflok, Arbeit macht frei??
