Contrave For Anti Obesity?
Over at Early Retiree's Orexigen Analysis... We Nattered about the new rage in anti-obesity drugs, Contrave which has two main constituents: Bupropion hydrochloride and Naltrexone hydrochloride.

Bupropion hydrochloride = Wellbutrin, Zyban, anti depressant, smoking cessation. An antidepressant of the aminoketone class, chemically unrelated to tricyclic, tetracyclic, selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor, or other known antidepressant agents. Its structure closely resembles that of diethylpropion; it is related to phenylethylamines.
Naltrexone hydrochloride= Revia, Vivitrol - for relapses of opioid or alcohol dependency. An opioid antagonist which is a synthetic congener of oxymorphone with no opioid agonist properties.
If one smokes less, or not at all, and has a mood enhancer, being stoned and happy, you would think one would eat more. But no, the bupropion really influences many of the 'happy hormones' such as dopamine and serotonin. No munchies here, as your actually too stoned to even think about food or being hungry. Contrave, contrary to raving? or kinda like Don-giva-damn-atall?
On the other end, if you do eat, the opioid or endorphin rush, is blocked by the opioid antagonist naltrexone. No fun in that culinary kill joy or buzz n "butt" be gone. Orexigen might want to consider alternative names and markets, in the middle east perhaps yassir-ridafat?
Demographics: one who doesn't smoke or eat much, is mellow, compliant and happy, especially if you add one adult beverage to the mix, singles might call this drug: ceap-nite-out, purfec-date or hapi-n-din.
Alternative names: buz-kil, kil-jois, shed-it, flab-aleve, az-begon, rump-ov, cankle-rid, ican-ci-mi-fet, no-bac-atal and mercifully, ther-bi-my-genitol. Deserving of one of these? Yeah I know, I'm a med study candidate and Out.
