The Philadelphia Beagles, Atomic Dogs?
Congrats to those Philly Cheese Steaks or should they be the Beagles? in making things RUFF last week for the Norsemen.
Dog headed Eagles or Beagles fans will be happy to know, since the Beagles were the only team I picked incorrectly, twice in the last two weeks, I'm now one of these...
Thrice a dog as the line opened offshore NE -7, and with 59% (spread) and 64% (money-line) of the public on the mutts, has already gone down to -3, then back to -4.5.
William Hill opened at PK, then immediately moved to NE -5. NE opened higher -6.5 at Coast and Wynn. Offshore at PinnacleSports, NE opened -7 or PHI +7.
I wonder how many bought that little doggy in the window at a bargain +7 (Pinnacle Sports)?
The Minutemens post 2000 SB history...
2002 STL -14 20-17 (53-Under) Despite -3 TOM, Rams 4Q 2 TD comeback to tie 17-17 with 1:30 left. Brady leads "tuck rule" Pats 53 yds, Vinatieri 48 yd FG with 0:01, Pats cover. 1st SB designated NSSE, and won on last play score.
2004 CAR +7 32-29 (37.5-Over) The "Breast" SB ever? After tying TD, Kasay makes like a boob, kicks off out of bounds, ball at NE 40 setting up 36 yd drive, Vinatieri 41 yd FG with 0:04
2005 PHI +7 24-21(46.5-Under) End of Q3 14-14, Pats go up 24-14 in Q4, McNabb comeback falls short with garbage TD at 1:48
2008 NYG +12.5 14-17 (55-Under) After 18-0, Pats lose perfection to 10-6 Gmen on 83yd "Eli to Tyree's Crown" drive for TD with 0:35
2012 NYG +2.5 17-21 (53-Under) Coughlin 9-7 Gmen bite Pats again, 88 yd drive for "Ahmad Matador NE D" TD with 0:57, 2pt att. fails
2015 SEA +2 28-24 (47.5-Over) Pete's goal line folly, pass when you should run, allows a last second pardon for the Pats to win.
2017 ATL +3 34-28 (57-Over) Quinn and Shanahan's 2nd half folly, see above, allowing Pats comeback from 28-3 deficit to cover in OT.
Overall favorite 6 of 7 times; 5-2 SU; ATS 3-4; 1-0 as dog; 2-4 as fav. and with the exception of the Philly game, all down to the wire affairs.
Yes, we know these are different teams, this is now, and past results are no guarantee of future returns. IMHO, if NE wins, its most likely by 3, 4 or 7.
So far in this tournament favorites are 5-5 SU, and NE -14 has been the only one to cover vs TEN ATS, making the dogs 9-1 ATS...
Funk-a-delic canines indeed, arf-arf, ruff-ruff, bow-wow-wow-yippie-yo-yippie-yeah...
