Friday AFTERHOURS volume on the Nasdaq and NYSE spiked bigtime. In the previous five sessions:
NYSE afterhours volume averaged 39 Million, Friday: 113 Million.
NASDAQ afterhours volume averaged 31 Million, Friday: 80 Million.
Of note on the NYSE, Pfizer gained 12% on 21 Million shares.
Large spikes in afterhours trading volume precursor a large move the following trading day, and although the move can go either way, its usually to the downside. Watch out Monday morning for a gap up or down.
