Nasdaq 100

NDX - comprised of the 100 largest stocks (based on market capitalization) traded on the Nasdaq National Market. The NDX is a modified market cap weighted index. Every stock in the index is represented in proportion to its market capitalization (the value of the total shares outstanding). The NDX value is modified to keep any large issues from having an overwhelming effect on the performance of the index. The actual computation methods are proprietary to the Nasdaq.
