UK Double Digit Stagflation

From the Daily Mail in the UK, via one of our new favorite blogs Money Matters by Elaine Meinel Supkis.

"According to the Consumer Price Index, inflation is running at only 2.5 per cent.

Yet the Mail's index finds that food costs alone are rising at 15.5 per cent a year - more than six times the official rate.

And there are double-digit increases in other "must-pay" essentials such as petrol, gas and electricity
."

A derivation of one of our mantras found in the comments section:

"Eat less! Go to bed early! Turn all electrics off! Walk everywhere! Keep your mouth shut! It's called New World Order!"

We gently repeat our mantras: Don't travel, stay home, don't eat, surf the web, inflation is tame.

ANYONE claiming that inflation or stagflation is under double digits is either a paid liar, a fool, or both.
